Here are some of the frequently asked questions. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

How long have you been creating art?

It is hard to set a specific date when we started creating art. For most of us, it started in our early childhood days by coloring with crayons and experimenting with colored pencils. The fascination with creating visual expressions has stuck as we grew older and our love for art intensified.

In late July we became aware of the revolutionary strides AI image generation has taken recently which sparked a whole new interest and curiosity. The possibility of combining traditional art with cutting-edge technology was introduced into our artistic practice.

Despite that, we never really stopped creating art, and we still, continue to find inspiration in the world around us.

What inspires your art?

Our art is inspired by a wide range of influences, but since moving to Japan and living in Kyoto, we have developed a deep appreciation for the aesthetics of the country and the city. From the intricate patterns adorning the traditional kimono, worn by the people exploring the stunning Arashiyama over the serene beauty of the countless temples and shrines to the sleek lines of modern architecture, there is no shortage of beauty to be found.

The fascinating development in Japanese Art, starting back in the Edo Period with traditional woodblock prints and their timeless elegance and grace, yielding masterpieces like Hokusai’s “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” or the Kabuki Actor series of the mysterious Sharaku, all the way to modern anime and manga art holds many inspirations to explore.

Whether we are exploring the winding streets of Gion or immersing ourselves in the tranquility of a Zen garden, there is always something that inspires us. We strive to capture the essence and many facades of Japan’s beauty in our art.
